Dear Max: Ms Kee truly is a marvel. His drive and ambition is exceptional and his energy and will superhuman. But it's just porn, let's not forget. And although the instinct is laudible, it's not the thought that counts in matters like this one - i doubt selling 1,000 of anything will go very far in any charity, after all costs are considered; and i'm sure the printing would suck up most if not all the money. Am i just being cynical?
I totally agree with you re: the assessment of costing, leaving little of the earnings to go to the various deserving charities.
Which is why I think Mr Kee should just get rid of the limited edition notion and go mass.
Judging from the number of visits and hits these past few days, I am very sure there is a real hunger out there for quality Asian male porn, which is what Mr Kee does best [more so than say Mr Adu, no offense].
And somewhat differing from you dear, I am rather convinced in the positive power of gay porn: it's enjoyable; and more importantly it's a crucial part of the growing up experience of any gay boy in any part of the world.
And in the case of Asian male porn featuring good-looking muscular Asian modelos, it provides a much needed positive role-model for Asian kids growing up in the various western countries. It lets them know that being an Asian male doesn't mean one is automatically some unattractive nerdy weakling.
So, Mr Kee is perfectly poised to do something both profitable and beneficent to the Asian gay communities. Now that's in the best spirit of Free Capitalism is it not dear? ;)
Dear Max: I wasn't being clear - again! I agree with you about porn and all its importance, and I think ms kee has an important contribution to make in this genre, as you said. (Sidetrack: I always thought you were a fan of mr adu's work!) I meant to say the project's link to the recent natural and nuclear disasters in Japan gratuitous and inapropriate and in the end insincere. It strikes rather a false note immediately. Yes, porn has to be mass hasn't it?
Oh I see; sorry for having misunderstood your earlier point. In that case we're in agreement dear. :)
However, re: the linkage with natural disasters/charity projects, I have a feeling that it might not have been entirely due to Mr Kee.
As a matter of fact, I rather think that the Japanese celebs/artistes who stripped for him needed this excuse/pretext even more, so that they could justify their what is no doubt perceived as outrageous behaviour to family and friends alike. Ja?
